Hiking

Today we explored some trails. We saw a mama deer with its fawn on one of the trails. They were beautiful! Sorry I didn't get a picture of them. They ran away too fast. But, at least we got the picture of them on another camera.

We attended a terrace talk with another park ranger first thing in the morning. (So in a way, Bridget was in school today!) It was about black bears. We had hoped to see one because there is a very healthy population in Shenandoah, three every square mile!
We did see a rabbit, black snake, chipmunks, interesting insects, a turtle and many birds, as well as the deer Bridget mentioned above. We hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail and had a picnic lunch and saw many beautiful vistas and overlooks. Hit the pool late afternoon and now we are about to eat dinner. Another wonderful day. I could get used to this!!!
