Cades Cove

We spent 3 hours biking Cades Cove on Thursday morning. We had perfect weather and it is literally one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen- like going back in time.
Mark's custom rack he made for our bikes:))

Bridget pedaled ahead and was waiting for us here. When we asked her what she was doing she said, "Mommy, it's just so peaceful and beautiful. I'm trying to remember it all". We watched a doe and her fawn graze together and had a great show from a pileated woodpecker :))
Juliana Serena came to stay with us for the rest of our stay in the Great Smokies. We hiked Laurel Falls, became blacksmiths at the living farm museum at Oconaluftee, attended a ranger talk on Elk, visited the town of Cherokee and the museum there, and did lots of fishing in the Little River which ran right through our campground. Thankfully I have pictures on our camera. The ones taken with the iPad were lost when we ran out of battery before they were published. I don't quite get that because they were saved, but we are clearly still learning this blog thing. Chad, if you read this and have any advice, let us know!!!
Congrats Leslie and Jesse on the birth of Celeste, our new grand-daughter yesterday on June 21st!
We are thinking of you!
xoxo
